The UtilX® Technology Organization is a multi-disciplined group of scientists and engineers who have come together to provide the industry with basic research on cable insulation aging and electrical system reliability. They engineer that research into practical and effective diagnostic systems and cable rejuvenation treatments.
The CableCURE® Technology Division creates the fluids and techniques for the most advanced and successful Cable Injection/Chemical Rejuvenation process in the world. The CableCURE group includes PhD chemists who work closely with Dow Corning, the exclusive manufacturing partner of UtilX, to develop the most advanced cable rejuvenation fluids and to ensure that those fluids are manufactured to exacting quality standards. The UtilX CableCURE application engineers have by any measure more injection application experience than anyone else in the world.
The CableWISE® division employs PhD level analysts and researchers to provide the most comprehensive electrical system diagnostic service available. The process relies on proprietary on-line electromagnetic field sensors, a database of field anomaly signatures and the unparalleled experience of the UtilX system analysts. From insulation life assessment to neutral system quality, UtilX experts are 'the' experts in electrical system diagnosis.
The UtilX research facility houses its Center for Cable Insulation and Diagnostic Research which includes the ability to produce potentials in excess of 100,000 volts and the ability to produce currents in excess of 15,000 amps. This allows UtilX to perform cable aging and failure analysis tests in house every day. Additionally, a tradition of collaborative research has created strong ties to: university research centers like the University of Connecticut's Electrical Insulation Research Center; industry leaders like collaborative partners at Thomas & Betts and Cooper Power Systems; and of course Dow Corning, the main UtilX partner from the very beginning.
