Safety Coordinator
Lineal Industries, a leading underground utility contractor headquartered in Pittsburgh, is searching for a Safety Coordinator to manage the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety activities including training and compliance in our Baltimore Operating Area. This position reports to the Director of Safety and Training Compliance in Pittsburgh.
Candidates should be well organized and detail oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel) and various databases. Position requires an Associate's Degree in Safety and/or a minimum of three years experience working in a pipeline construction environment; preferably in the natural gas and/or electric industry. Applicants must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to travel within the operating area. Applicants must have a working knowledge of current OSHA, DOT and EPA Regulations, as well as state and local safety compliance regulations.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
Provide leadership by example and promote a Safety culture of personal accountability and responsibility.
Schedule and conduct quarterly training presentations in a timely and professional manner (Bilingual in Spanish is a plus)
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits in the field and have the skills, knowledge and ability to take immediate corrective action if required.
Conduct incident investigations and assist in injury management and root cause analysis.
Must be able to function efficiently within a team environment and work with Operating Area Management to integrate EHS into daily work practices.
Serve as the Operating Area Safety Committee Chairperson.
